Shaden House has an imposing position adjacent to the church within the village of Shaugh Prior, on the south-western corner of Dartmoor National Park.

The naval city of Plymouth (around 8 miles) is less than half an hours easy car journey and Shaugh Prior has a village primary school, public house – The White Thorn Inn, a recreational hall, church and regular bus service.

Yelverton is a ten minute drive and has a good range of everyday shops and amenities whilst Ivybridge, with its Tesco superstore, secondary school, mainline railway station and link to the A38, is around fifteen minutes. The wide open spaces of Dartmoor are virtually on the doorstep and the area abounds in a superb walking, riding and cycling country. Plymouth is a major regional centre for the South West and has the Drake’s Circus shopping mall, department stores, The Theatre Royal and opportunities for sailing and water sports. The South Devon coastline, including the beach at Wembury, is half an hours drive.

Shaden House, we are advised, was built a little under fifty years ago as the parish rectory and has been in the current ownership for almost thirty years. The house stands in an impressive plot with wonderful views stretching across Plymouth and out to sea. It has spacious family–sized accommodation with four double first floor bedrooms and a study/fifth bedroom on the ground floor.

The large, double glazed, windows provide plenty of natural light and make the most of the previously mentioned views or outlooks over the gardens. The house is set well back from the road with an attractive entrance driveway and plenty of parking. The gardens are predominantly lawned and provide a lovely private setting for Shaden House.

DIRECTIONS
Travelling towards Plymouth on the A38 take the Westover exit for Ivybridge and at the end of the slip road turn right onto the B213. At the T junction turn right following signs for Ivybridge. At the roundabout take the first exit signposted Cadleigh/Cornwood and continue along this road out of Ivybridge and onto a country lane and on reaching the junction turn right signposted Cornwood. Stay on this road until you reach Shaugh Prior and the entrance to Shaden House will be found on the right before the church.
